Participate in the “Making music in the mountains” festival and immerse yourself in the fascinating tradition of Austrian folk music as it gets a fresh revival. The melodies create an authentic and unique atmosphere by blending traditional sounds with modern twists.

The local musicians love to entertain visitors at the many traditional festivals and events throughout the year. Come join them at the International Brass Band Meeting in Wolfsberg, where your band is invited to present your home country and the typical music of your region. Share a weekend dedicated to music with Carinthians and visitors from other countries!

A highlight of the festival will be a special open-air mass held at a high altitude, celebrated by the town's priest and accompanied by all the bands. Of course, there will also be plenty of time for Carinthian-style conviviality and fun.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival of the bands in Wolfsberg
Check-in and dinner
Opening evening with official welcome by the mayor at the Palace of Culture
Overnight stay

Day 2

Breakfast
Joint parade through the historic centre of Wolfsberg and performances by the single bands at characteristic locations of the city
Concert of all bands together and lunch in typical restaurants in the centre
Free afternoon and optional concert in one of the charming neighbouring villages
Dinner at the hotel
Performances by all the bands in the Palace of Culture
Overnight stay

Day 3

Breakfast
Departure to the mountains, where Holy Mass will be celebrated in the open air by the parish priest of Wolfsberg, accompanied by all participating bands
Lunch, acknowledgements and souvenirs

Hotel accommodation will be arranged within a maximum radius of 30 km from the centre of Wolfsberg
Due to limited capacity, the band may be split between two different hotels
